O’RIORDAN (The Island, Derrinagree): On January 28, 2014, peacefully, in the presence of his family, in the excellent care of Mallow General Hospital, DB, beloved husband of Josie (nee Linehan) and loving father of Anne and Mary. Deeply regretted by his wife, daughters, sons-in-law Peter O’Sullivan and Connie Byrne, brother Ben, his precious grandchildren Sinead, Maeve and Emma, nephew Eamon Tarrant, niece Eilish Twohig, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Tarrant’s Funeral Home, Millstreet on this Wednesday evening from 6pm. Removal to the Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Derrinagree at 8pm. Requiem Mass on tomorrow, Thursday, at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Cullen Cemetery.

CARROLL (Millstreet): In the excellent care of Millstreet Community Hospital, suddenly, at Mallow General Hospital, on January 22, 2014, DANIEL JOSEPH (late of Tullig), son of the late Edward and Hanora, husband of the late Mary and father of the late Nora. Deeply regretted by his sisters Kathleen O’Mahony, Chrissie Mullane, Mary Burns and Pauline Murray, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Rest in Peace

Reposing at Tarrants Funeral Home, Millstreet on Friday from 6.30pm followed by removal at 8pm to Millstreet Church. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Millstreet. [1]

2014-01-23 Áine Collins speaking on the RTÉ 'Leaders Questions' programme Áine Collins was on the panel for Leaders Questions on RTÉ 1 today. The discussion centred around transparency in charities, and what the government intends to do so we can see where our donations go to (hopefully not in huge pay packets to people that run the charities like we have been hearing recently). Her direct interest in the topic comes from the fact that she sits on the Public Accounts Committee which will are investivating the revelations of the recent weeks.

Munster Schools Camogie Champions

2014-01-18 Millstreet Community School U16A Camogie Team, Munster ChampionsThe Millstreet Community School Camogie Team beat Ard Scoil from Dungarvan, in the Munster U16 ½ A Camogie Final last Saturday in extra time to become Munster Champions 2014, at Rock Rd. in Cork. Online Gaelic Football Foundation Coaching Courses

It is now possible to do the Foundation coaching course online. All you have to do is contact Shane Supple (shanesupple@gmail.com) and he will send on all the information needed. We ran our first online course last week in Carrigtwohill where over 40 people participated on the course. The feedback was very positive and participants found it user friendly and engaging. The online course covers the theory modules. You have up to 2 full weeks to complete the course from your office or home. You then have to attend the practical workshop at one of the following venues below.
Please specify which course you want to participate in on the email. Closing date is this Saturday at 5pm.
Cost is €20 which is to be paid on the morning of the practical workshop.
