Athletics: At the County Senior Cross Country Championships near Riverstick, Tony Kelleher finished 19th in a time of 37:35 (plus bronze in the team section), and Donal Coffey finished 22nd in a time of 37:49 [full results] (photo right –>).
Also well done to Billy Cronin (running for West Muskerry) in the Junior section who finished 6th and will run in the All-Irelands on Nov 16th [result]

There was no luck for Millstreet runners at the Munster Juvenile Uneven Age Cross Country Championships held in Castlelyons last weekend [full results] [report from the Millstreet Club]

Tony Kelleher finished 6th (out of 245) and 1st in the over 40s at the Mount Oval 6 Mile on Nov 16th [results & photos]

Well done to Alan Shortt who finished the New York Marathon (Nov 3rd) in a time of 04:30:13 (bib# 53717)

Presentation of Halloween Fancy Dress Cheque to Reach Out Cancer Support at the Wallis Arms Hotel on Sunday Night

A most impressive cheque of €3,500.00 was officially presented to members of Reach Out Cancer Support at a special function in the Wallis Arms Hotel on Sunday night.   Those who spoke included Martina Sheehan for Aubane Social Club who organised the very successful Halloween Fancy Dress event.  Billy Sheahan of the Wallis Arms also addressed the gathering - It was Billy and Ellen who kindly made the Wallis Arms available for the fundraising occasion.   Michelle O'Keeffe and Mairéad Daly expressed sincere thanks on behalf of R.O.C.S..  Highlights of the event will feature on LTV2 during its new season.  Click on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.)

Joanne O’ Riordan was guest of honour at Ladies Gaelic Football Association all star awards on Saturday night (November 9th), which took place in the Citywest Hotel in Dublin, where over 900 guests attended. She gave a very inspiring speech for which she received a standing ovation and an honorary All-Star herself.
