Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to News Report 1128 from Millstreet.

Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this lovely sunny Tuesday morning.

Well our annual Summer Show lived up to its great name again this year. From Wednesday to late on Sunday evening last, the sun shone in all its glory as thousands of horses from many countries were put through their paces in both indoor and outdoor arenas. As many as ten arenas going at any one time. Over 2,000 horses in all taking part. The many new features made the venue look awesome, a truly fitting place to show off to the competitors from America and Canada as well as many European Countries.

Please look up the website for all the pictures and other details. Well done again to the Duggan Family.

This weekend it will be the turn of the people of Aubane to celebrate the centenary of the School /Social Centre. They kick off of Friday night August 17th with a grand Dinner Dance at the Gleneagle Hotel. Tickets at €30 each can be had from John Kelleher or Martina Sheehan.

Eamonn McSweeney (originally of Minor Row, Millstreet), Breeda O’Leary, Brendan Murphy and Mary Kelleher – some of the very kind supporters/organisers at Millstreet Museum’s Annual Church gate collection on Sat., 11th Aug. 2012. The wonderfully generous response to this year’s collection amounted to €1,587.73 which will assist in defraying the cost of insurance, heating and lighting as well as part-fund the cost of a new display unit in the restoration of the the new centre for which the official handing over of the key is imminent.   Sincere thanks to All who contributed so very generously.  (S.R.)
