“Strings” Group Leave for Derry to Participate in NAFCo 2012

The wonderfully talented members of “Strings” leave Millstreet for Derry on Tuesday evening to participate in the North Atlantic Fiddle Convention 2012 being held in Derry. Full details of the Convention are available on www.nafco2012.com . We wish the Group under the leadership of their Music Coordinator, Emer Foley-Twomey, every success. It is indeed very clear that the Millstreet Group (with a further talented musician from Rockchapel) will hugely impress all with whom they meet in Derry when one considers how superbly uplifting the recent truly excellent Strings Concert was in Drishane Chapel on 1st June 2012. Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to News Report 1121 from Millstreet .

Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this fine but showery Tuesday morning, the last one in June.

Please be reminded once again that we have two defibrillators in the town for public use, They are located at the door of the Youth Centre and at the Door of our Garda Barracks.

At the recent meeting of the Community Council it was decided to hold refresher courses for people who have done defibrillator courses already. New comers are also needed and they can attend the same courses, which will begin in September. Please send you name and details to me at 086 316 32 85. Or to any Community Council Member.

The fine weather at the weekend was well appreciated for the annual Mass at St. John’s Well on Friday night and again for the Family fun day at Aubane on Sunday afternoon and also the lovely Country Park. So the people up there must be well in with  him who makes the sunshine.
