We drew 1-1 away to Innishvilla today after a hard fought and entertaining game. Innishvilla started the game better and had a couple of half chances which came to nothing. We started to get into the game after 15 mins and had a good period of pressure which saw us create chances for Tadhg Collins and Michael Murphy. We were made to pay for not making the pressure count in the 35th min when they scored with a good strike from outside the box. It took us just 3 mins to get back level though. Murphy picked up a loose ball in midfield and threaded a lovely ball through for Collins to slot home. We started the 2nd half brightly and almost took the lead in the 50th min. Munster Scór Sinsir Semi-Final

With Best of luck to Millstreet and St.Johns GAA Clubs who are taking part in the Munster Scór Sinsir semi-finals in Tallow, Co. Waterford tonight, after they all won Cork County titles two weeks ago in Ovens. Millstreet GAA are represented in the Novelty Act by Stephen O’Riordan, Niamh O’Mahony, James Kelleher, and Rebecca Enright in a hilarious sketch as the Queen tries to land at Cork Airport (photo above left). John Tarrant, Pat Sheehan, and Jerry Doody represent Millstreet GAA in the Question Time, while John O’Sullivan (photo above right) represents St.Johns in the recitation.

Lenten Talks Series – Being God’s Compassion in our World

Justice Kilcullen with Mary Robinson in Somalia

The Millstreet parish series of Lenten Talks continues with the third and final one on Monday the 12th of March at Millstreet Community School Library from 8 to 9.30pm.

The third speaker is the Director of Trócaire, Mr Justin Kilcullen. His talk is entitled “Being God’s Compassion in our World”.

Justin Kilcullen was appointed Director of Trócaire in 1993 having worked for many years in Africa and Asia. Having qualified as an architect in 1975 Justin began working overseas in Tanzania before moving to Asia, specialising in the design and construction of refugee camps for Cambodian and Vietnamese refugees. He joined Trócaire in 1981 and served as Trócaire representative in Laos until 1992.
