Methodist Update – November ’11

Meetings for worship, prayer and Bible study continue to be organized by the Methodist Church in Millstreet.  We now meet every Sunday at 7pm in the Canon O’Donovan Centre (kindly granted) on Clara Road in Millstreet.

Last week we were reading together some inspiring verses from 1 Peter 1:3-4 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!  In his great mercy he has given us new birth in to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and in to an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade… kept in heaven for you …”

Macra Novice Debating – County Semi-Final

Millstreet Macra’s Novice debating team defeated strong opposition from Donoughmore Macra in last weekend’s Cork County Novice Debating Semi-Final in Bandon.

They will now take part in the Final versus Bantry Macra na Feirme. The Final takes place in Ballinagree N.S. on Saturday, the 3rd December at 8.00 pm. All support would be greatly appreciated!

Christmas Market & Tea Room

This is becoming an annual event because of the success of previous years. 20+ stands (different each day) There will be a huge selection of unique Christmas gifts and things you just want to keep for yourself. Stand-holders will have an interesting selection handmade and locally produced items for sale including, knitting, paintings, baking, wreaths, computers, jewelery, preserves etc.

Eucharistic Congress Bell in Millstreet

The Eucharistic Congress Bell which will be in St.Patricks Church, Millstreet this evening for 7:30 mass and remains there until tomorrow morning, is a symbol of the 50th International Eucharistic Congress. The Bell will reflect the invitation to faith, to prayer, to reconciliation and to mission which has always been important in our Christian tradition and is no less so today. The pilgrimage of the bell throughout the Dioceses of Ireland will be a vehicle to:

– Invite people to deepen their communion with Christ and with one another,
