Tubrid and Millstreet Website Friends On Visit Today

On a special day for the four Millstreet Visitors who came from Carriganima, Glanmire and the Lake District in England they hold a portrait of Tubrid Holy Well for which location they have great regard and are pictured at West End, Millstreet today (2nd July 2011). They are all very loyal followers of our Millstreet website - clearly very decerning people!

Bill Brien

Bill Brien bought and sold hens and eggs and ducks and chickens
Turkeys, guinea fowl and geese and rabbits too
And in his van he drove around Duhallow
And with him went his faithful kerry blue.

One of the last of an old breed of dealers
A stocky fellow with a husky voice
You ask him for ten bob for skin of fox or badger

Death Notice: Abbey O’Regan

The death has occurred on Friday, July 01, 2011 of Abbey O’REGAN of Ballydaly, Millstreet and Gortnagree, Kells, Cahirciveen, Kerry. Reposing at Tarrant’s Funeral Home, Millstreet. Rosary this Saturday evening at 8pm. Removal tomorrow, Sunday, at 7.30pm to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Ballydaly. Requiem Mass on Monday at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Millstreet.

Airtricity Community Fund

Coomacheo/Curragh Wind Farms are allocating funds to projects in the local community.
Airtricity would like to invite applications from community-based projects/activities in the locality* of our wind farms at Coomacheo/Curragh Wind Farm, near Millstreet, Co. Cork.
Airtricity has launched a new application process for the community fund awards.
New criteria have been put in place giving preference to projects that have an energy efficiency or sustainability theme.

Closing date for applications is Friday 16th July 2011.
