Goals win games and it was certainly the case today as Goleen scored goals at crucial times to proceed to the quarter final of the Junior B Football County Championship. The first half was tit-for-tat as both sides knocked over some nice points, but both sides were guilty of a number of missed opportunities also. St.Johns were better and faster on the ball, moving it quickly for some fine scores, yet were playing too much of the game out the field and not getting close to the goal often enough. Goleen seemed stronger around the middle of the field and caused lots of problems when they ran directly at the St.Johns defence. He worked with fellows half his age and more than held his own
