Humphery Kelleher Cup: The finals of the Humphery Kelleher U15 Munster Football will take place in Millstreet next Saturday July 13th. Preliminary rounds will be held in Knocknagree and Dromtarriffe, with the losers final at 2:30pm, and the final proper at 3:45, both games in the Town Park.

On the same day, Shane Hickey and Padraig Moynihan play for Cork in the Munster U14 competition in Waterford, and Cathal Crowley plays for Cork in the Munster U16 competition in Limerick. Full details of these competitions is on the Cork GAA website

Athletics: The Willie Neenan 10k Memorial Run was held last Friday July 5th as part of the Gathering Festival. There was an impressive 188 finishers. Cycling: The Millstreet Gathering Festival Cycling Road Race held on last Sunday July 7th was won by Paidí O’Brien of the Planet-Tri team – he’s a former professional with the Sean Kelly / An Post team, and is showing his form now after returning from a training stint in Belgium. Chloé Collins has seen lots of action with the Cork U14 teams recently. Last week she was on the Cork U14 Camogie team playing in Ennis. This weekend she was on the Cork U14 Football team that won a blitz in Mullingar this weekend, beating Kerry by four points in the final. Next weekend she’s back in action with the footballers as they attempt to beat Kerry in the Munster Championship Final replay.

Video Countdown to 2013 Cork 20 Rally which will be based in Millstreet

To get us in the mood for the 2013 Cork 20 Rally which will be based in Millstreet for the first time ever this year we take a look back at footage from some previous Cork 20 Rallies that have been held over the years to see what we have in store for us in Millstreet with the arrival of this event in October.

We will start by looking back at the 2011 Cork 20 Rally, and over the coming few weeks/months we will feature more Cork 20 footage from years gone by in a build up to what will be a Major Event for Millstreet to be held on 4th, 5th & 6th October 2013.

GAA Scór Sinsear: County Final – The Millstreet Question Time team had an easy victory in the County Final in Ovens on Saturday night (March 2nd) to record their 16th title in a row. St. John’s were seen to be very unlucky, coming second in the Novelty Act, and without success in the Recitation and Ballad Group. However, St.John’s got some consolation when they were awarded the best club in the county. [full results]

Lyre were red hot favourites for this game and had eyes on winning Duhallow and getting to the county final as they did two years ago, but it wasn’t to be as Millstreet came with a late goal to snatch victory and proceed to the Duhallow Final. Millstreet started the game strongly playing much the better football between the two half lines, controlling the ball and linking well with the forwards, but poor kicking meant the points weren’t coming. Lyre to their credit had few forrays towards the Millstreet goal, but they were much more clinical and after 15 minutes the score stood at two points a piece.
