It’s going to get Noisy in June

http://www.thelowlife.ie/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/IMG_6881.jpgFor the first time ever, the Green Glens has been listed on the Irish Drift Championship Season Schedule 🙂

Round 2 – Green Glens Arena (Indoor), Millstreet – June 6/7
For the first time in Irish drift history, the IDC will compete indoors at the 2,500-seater Green Glens Arena in Millstreet, Cork. This historic venue, coupled with the insanity of the IDC will certainly be the highlight of the season. Expect a concert-like setup where the weather, for once, will not be a factor.

New Up and Coming Co-Driver at Cork 20 Rally Last Weekend

vedaVeda Murphy from Millstreet was one very happy Passenger at The Navigator Experience Stage on the Cork 20 Rally over the weekend,Veda who is only 8 years of age enjoyed a number of high speed runs in a Proper Rally Car at the Purpose Built Track at The Green Glens, and as you can see from the Photo she thoroughly enjoyed herself, I think we could have a new co-driver in the making here, well done Veda.

With the championship already won by the non-competing Declan & Brian Boyle in their Subaru Impreza WRC, second place was up for grabs between Monaghan siblings Sam and Josh Moffett in their Fiesta WRC and Mitsubishi Lancer respectively. Josh also had the not so small matter of the Group N championship to deal with and he was just a point ahead of Stephen McCann heading into the final round. 2014 Cork “20” News

2014 Cork-20 - posterWith the news breaking last week that AceSigns Cork are to become the title sponsor of this year’s 100 year centenary Cork 20 International Rally, the Club under the leadership of Kevin O’Riordan (Clerk of the Course) are now busying themselves with the organising and running of the event.
Kevin stated now that the Financial side of the Rally is underpinned it leaves the team and I left to concentrate on the rally itself. This year the Rally will have a real Carnival atmosphere surrounding the town of Millstreet. Having an event such as the Cork 20 running for a hundred year’s is something the members of Munster Car Club are very proud about and rightly so. Indeed it is a great honour for me as C.O.C on this very special year. I will be outlining details of the event over the coming months but at this early juncture I would like to point out that we will have centralised service in the renowned Green Glens Arena which proved to be classed as one of the best service area’s on the 2013 Irish tarmac Rally Championship calendar. This means that service crews can set up in the Green Glens arena on [read more …] “2014 Cork “20” News”
