Pitch & Putt Practice Session

Beginners and newcomers are most welcome to attend the practice session on tomorrow evening (Tuesday 28th May)at 6pm on the Pitch and Putt course where members of the committee will be available to take small groups to demonstrate the technique of the game and the etiquette that goes with it before competitions start in the coming weeks.

The Pitch & Putt has Reopened for the Summer 😊

Millstreet Pitch & Putt Club is now in full swing after the winter season. The course which is in existence since 1964 is looking immaculate with its manicured greens, lush fairways and practice driving range. Coaching for both adults and juveniles will take place on 14th May. Membership will remain the same as in previous years at the very affordable price of €20 per family, €15 per adult, and €10 per juvenile and Actively Retired, which can be paid to any member of the committee. Competitions will begin in May for the many trophies that have been donated to the club, with the most recent ones being The AIB Trophy and The Credit Union Trophy kindly sponsored by our local financial institutions.
The club is very grateful this year to Cork County Council for the LCDC grant of €8000 which will help in a big way to repair the roof of the club house which has been getting progressively worse over the years and also for the general upkeep of the course.
There is no better way to enjoy a lovely sunny evening than playing pitch and putt under the beautiful Clara Mountain, so come on, everybody welcome.

Millstreet GAA Club will host its 5th Annual Golf Classic on Friday next 14th September in Mahoney Point, Killarney Golf & Fishing Club. This event has proved to be a very successful and enjoyable day and the funds raised are used for the development of our players. The organising committee of Anthony Dennehy, Declan Crowley, Donagh Hickey, Cian O’Mahony & Noel Crowley have ensured the success of the event and it gives former members and players of our Club an opportunity of meeting in a relaxed and social atmosphere.
The Golf Classic could not be held without the support of our generous sponsors and Millstreet Club wishes to acknowledge the 6 main sponsors of the day – Cloverhill Foods, Colemans Millstreet, Tarrant’s Bar, Eamonn McCaul Mechanical Services, Claramore Construction and Donagh Hickey Motors. We will be taking a break from weekly evening competitions at the moment due to the beginning of the new school year and the advent of darker evenings. We hopefully will be holding a fun competition open to all ages at the end of September weather conditions permitting. Feel free to continue practising at your leisure in preparation for the big event.

The Eileen Collin’s Memorial Trophy

Last evening, Noel Collins presented The Eileen Collin’s Memorial Trophy to 1st place  Danny O’Riordan, 2nd Evan O’Mahony, and 3rd Luke Kelleher.

Coomlogane Trophy update

Due to last Friday’s night inclement weather the Coomlogane Trophy which is open to adult ladies and gents, has been postponed until next Friday night (August 3rd) at 7pm.

The Trophy open to juvenile girls and boys (with a special category for beginners) will begin at the earlier time of 6pm tomorrow evening (Tuesday, July 3rd) to facilitate the Camogie girls. The draw for partners will take place at 6pm sharp.

The Coomlogane Trophy

The Coomlogane Trophy for Adults (Ladies and Gents) will be played on this Friday evening 27th July at 7pm.

The Juvenile Girls and Boys trophy will be played on Tuesday 31st July at 6pm. Please note earlier start (to facilitate Camogie girls). Draw for partners will take place at 6pm sharp.
