Millstreet Christmas Market

Hi Everyone,

The Christmas Market is on this weekend. We have 27 stands with a huge variety of arts, crafts, fashion, photography, home wear, plants and centre pieces, cards and a million other things I can’t name.  The hall has been decorated festively and we will have a tea room to contemplate your purchases.
We would really appreciate it if you could drop in on Friday evening after work (from 4 – 9pm).  The Ladies and Gentlemen involved in organising the concert in Drishane will be there in full costume and we will have mulled wine waiting for you.
While we are not having an official opening it would be great to have lots of support on the first night with the hope that you will spread the word and your friends and relations will pop in over the weekend.
Thank you,
Members of the Christmas Lights Committee
Noirin Twomey, Joseph Lawlor, Catherine Pomeroy, Nicola Mc Mahon

Millstreet Church Signal Extended

The team who recently arranged to extend the Church Signal from St. Patrick's Church,Millstreet to a far wider area - (from left) John Hickey, the Keogh Brothers from Dublin and John Joe Moriarty. The aerial on the roof of the Church is now much higher. One may obtain the Church Signal on UHF Channel 53. It can be tuned in when Church Services take place. If you are one of the new people who is now receiving the signal (which provides television coverage of Church Services) we would very much appreciate it if you would indicate the area in which you are receiving it by adding a comment here or by emailing <email> This will very much help us to determine the extended radius of the signal. Sincere thanks. (Seán Radley for www.millstreet.ie)

Prayerful November Balloon Release at Millstreet Community School

A most impressive Balloon Release took place today, Tuesday 16th November at 12noon in Millstreet Community School bus park. It involved the release of about 300 black or white balloons filled with helium.  The idea of this event came from a group of Transition Years who wanted to find a different and memorable way to remember loved ones who had passed away.  Each Student and member of Staff was asked to write names of loved ones on a small piece of paper and these were inserted into the balloons.  All the balloons were collected in a net and a short prayer service with all the school participating with Fr. Paddy O’Byrne and co-ordinator, John Magee, School Chaplain as well as [read more …] “Prayerful November Balloon Release at Millstreet Community School”

Methodist November Meetings

We are really into winter now – aren’t the evenings getting dark since the hour change. Also of course we have just had the darkness of Halloween. However Jesus is the light of the world and at our next meeting in Millstreet we will be exploring what that actually means for you and me practically. We will also share in our usual time of informal worship and prayer. Everyone and anyone is most welcome to join us. We meet in the Canon O’Donovan Centre on Clara Road in Millstreet at 7.00 p. m. on the second and fourth Sundays of each month. So our next meeting is this Sunday the 14th November. It would be great to see you there so we can share the light of Christ together.
