Next “Radio Treasures” on Tuesday 10th July from 9:30 until 11:00pm

There is no transmission of “Radio Treasures” on Tuesday 3rd July on www.corkmusicstation.com.   Broadcasts will resume on Tues., 10th July at 9:30pm when we shall feature lots of superb music and song as well as interesting interviews at 10:00pm.  We shall be referring also to recent events such as the recent Circuit of Ireland Rally Stages Revisited where lots of Ford Escorts appeared (as illustrated below) and we shall chat about the June presentation by Joe Kennelly at Millstreet Gramophone Circle (also illustrated here).   The next Gramophone Circle presentation takes place on our national Culture Night on 21st September and will be given by Maurice Linehan.  Click on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.)

Music Room in Boherbue Presentation on Thurs. 5th Feb. 8pm

The next Presentation at Boherbue’s Music Room in the Pearse Memorial Hall takes place on Thursday, 5th February 2015 at 8pm.  The Presenter is Anne McCarthy of Boherbue.  We thank Maura for the notice.  Millstreet Gramophone Circle’s next presentation takes place on Friday, 20th Feb. at 8.15pm and will be presented by Joe Kennelly of Ballincollig and Millstreet.  (S.R.)

Bernard’s Superb Presentation at Millstreet Gramophone Circle

On Friday, 22nd August 2014 at Millstreet Day Care Centre, Clara Road -Bernard O'Donoghue (seated) of Cullen and Oxford delighted the large audience at the beginning of Millstreet Gramophone Circle's new season of musical presentations.  It was most enjoyable listening to Bernard's reason for his twenty choices and receiving such fascinating backgrounds to the various pieces. Gramophone Circle Special Tonight as part of Bealtaine Festival 2014

A very special Millstreet Gramophone Circle meeting takes place on this Friday, 16th May at 8.15p.m in the Canon O’Donovan Day Care Centre on Clara Road. This is in fact one of the many superb events in the month-long IRD Duhallow-coordinated Bealtaine Festival programme. As well as experiencing this month’s Presenter’s musical choice the audience is invited to share gems from their own musical treasures making it a truly interactive night. We shall also be including a special feature on a recent John McCormack box-set launch. Everyone is very welcome.  (S.R.)

Music Presentations in Boherbue and in Millstreet

The next “Music Room” presentation at the Pearse Memorial Hall in Boherbue takes place on Wednesday, 9th October 2013 at 8.00 p.m..  Guest Presenter is Nora Burke of Kanturk.   The next Millstreet Gramophone Circle presentation is on Friday, 18th October at 8.15 p.m. where I shall be attempting to share twenty tracks of some of my favourite music.    All are very welcome to both music events.   (S.R.)

Michael’s Musical Choices Prove To Be Real Winners

It was Michael's first presentation and it was a tremendous success enjoyed by a capacity audience including young Daniel and James from Ballinatona, Millstreet.

It was Michael’s first presentation and it was a tremendous success enjoyed by a capacity audience which included young Daniel and James from Ballinatona, Millstreet.  The next meeting which will take place on Friday, 19th April at 8.15 pm in the Canon O’Donovan Centre will be given by Margaret McCarron, Bandon (nee O’Donoghue, Cullen) – pictured fourth from left.  My job as DJ was made so much easier tonight because Michael had edited his complete programme in just two discs.   Because of the generosity of those present to our usual Draw we shall be making a contribution to the Daffodil Day local organisers.   (S.R.)

National Culture Night & Millstreet Gramophone Circle

Friday, 21st September 2012 is National Culture Night in Ireland.   Millstreet marks this occasion in the Canon O’Donovan Centre at 8.15pm when Con Kelleher, Cloghoulabeg will present a splendid programme of wonderful music at our monthly Gramophone Circle presentation.   Admission is free.   We hold a draw at the interval.   All are very welcome.   (S.R.)

In Cullen Pipe Band Hall there will be music performed by the Irish Piobaireachd Society and the Cullen Pipe Band. There will also be a trad session with local musicians, singers, dancers, poetry and all rounded off with a cupán tae.
