Cork County Council Anti Litter Competition

This year’s competition kicks off on Monday, this is an Anti-Litter competition so marks are deducted for litter only. We don’t receive points if an area looks well, we lose points if they see any little bit of litter!

The biggest cause for lost points is cigarette butts we’re like a broken record at this stage (or like falling asleep watching a reel for the young ones )

Please, please, please put your cigarette butts into the nearest bin or the buckets outside the pubs – every 10 butts seen equals one point deduction and that’s all it takes!

Our assigned areas were fabulous last year, unfortunately points were lost in the surrounding areas, meaning we have to focus on all the town this year.

Which means we need extra hands ☺️ we will hold a clean up each Saturday before the judging period.

This week’s clean up is on Saturday April 26th @ 10am, meeting at the GAA Hall

1st Judging: Monday April 28th – Wednesday May 7th
Area: Tanyard Wood

2nd Judging: Monday May 12th – Wednesday May 21st
Area: Murphy’s Terrace

3rd Judging: Monday May 26th – Wednesday June 4th
Area: McCarthy’s Park

If you live in these areas, please do want you can to keep them clean – pick up litter, brush outside your door etc.

If you need help, please let us know!
