Building will begin in December depending on private funding, she said, promising to use her position in Government to “keep an eye” on it.

She said frustration with the lack of isolated units and the fear her daughter, Lily, would pick up infections in CUH were the reasons why she …… read the full article on the Irish Examiner

Lights of Rejoicing at Easter in Millstreet

The solemn and joyful scene of Easter Candles being lit by the congregation at St. Patrick's Church, Millstreet on tonight (Holy Saturday 2012) symbolising the end of Lent and the joy of the Resurrection at Eastertime. The uplifting hymns so wonderfully sung by the Church Choir also reflected this joy. A very Happy Easter to everyone....from all the Millstreet Website Team.

Visiting Clara Mountain on Holy Saturday 2012

This group of people climbed to Clara Mountain's summit this afternoon (Holy Saturday - 7th April 2012) to experience the magnificent views on an occasion when Clara is without its Holy Year Cross for a while longer. Our next feature will include Seán Murphy's images of the old and new Crosses presently on the ground at the summit. (S. R.)

Clara Mountain Without Its Cross – A Rare Sight Indeed!

On this Good Friday morning this is how Clara Mountain looked. The Cross was carefully taken down on Thursday, 5th April 2012.   A splendid new Cross will replace this.    In 1950 the Holy Year Cross was put in place on Clara Mountain’s summit.    It was replaced in 1967 and again in 1984.   Therefore the new Cross will be the fourth.   With hundreds of people attending, Holy Mass was celebrated on Clara Mountain in 2000 with a very special plaque unveiled on that historic 50th anniversary occasion by the late Tadhg O’Driscoll.   (S.R.)
