The Secret Garden – July Events

from the Secret Garden

What an amazing summer so far, almost makes up for the winter! We hope that you are making the most of your garden and enjoying the fruits of your labour.   Although this is a quiet time in the garden, remember to water, weed & feed. Keep deadheading roses and annuals to keep plants flowering for longer. This is also a good time to sow vegetable seeds for quick croping plants (beetroot, radish, salads, scallions, carrots, french beans) as well as winter-hardy crops such as kale, cabbage and winter lettuce.   We have three events coming up in July:

1)  Bee Day –  In association with The Duhallow Beekeepers Group   Come along to find out all you need to know about keeping bees. Practical demonstrations, advice and a chance to quiz the experts on all things Bee!

Local honey for sale.   Specials served in the Troom, including Cream Tea.

“if the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would have only four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.” Albert Einstein [read more …] “The Secret Garden – July Events”
