Transition Year Students Inspire with their Twelve Hour Sleep Out for Trócaire

Pictured in one of the three specially designed huts - some of the 34 Transition Year Students from Millstreet Community School beginning their 12 hour Sleep Out in aid of Trócaire on the grounds of St. Patrick's Church, Millstreet on Monday, 26th March 2012 at 7.00 p.m.. Also included is School Chaplain, John Magee. Sincere congratulations to the Students and their Teachers on being such a wonderful source of inspiration to so many. James Healy’s Forthcoming Motorcycle Event for Down Syndrome Ireland

James Healy of Curracahill, Millstreet (presently working abroad) will be joining this highly praiseworthy Sponsored Motorcycle Ride of 1,000km in aid of Down Syndrome Ireland. Cork Simon Community Cheque Presentation


Above are some photos from a recent cheque presentation to the Cork Simon Community at The Pub in Carriganima. The Pub raised the funds through a table quiz where each team nominated a charity. More brave Boeing swimmers

For various reasons some swimmers could not attend last week’s swim

and took part in the fundraising event on Saturday 15th January 2012

in much cooler conditions than their fellow swimmers last week!

For one in his late fifties or early sixties not much younger than me
He is quite a tough nut would you not agree

Age is a relative thing the brave Mick does not feel old
Like the Arctic bear he must be immune to cold

The Boeing New Year’s Day swim 2012

The Boeing swim committee wish to thank each and every one who supported the  2012 swim especially our brave swimmers and supporters who came out  and  made today such a huge success, well done!

Millstreet Community School are collecting used ink cartridges (from all types of printers) and old mobile phones for charity at the school. If anybody has any of the above, they can be dropped into the Community School. All funds raised are for the cancer appeal in the Mercy Hospital.

Millstreet Parent and Toddler Group

The proceeds of €300 from the recent sponsered buggy push around the Millstreet Town Park organised by the Parent and Toddler Group was handed over to nurses Sheila and Mary of the Neo Natal Ward at Cork University Hospital by group members Gillian and Annmarie.
