From theAA.ie: “The Millstreet/ Rathmore Rd (R582) will close for works at the townland of Inches from Mon 10th until Fri 21st Aug from 8am until 6pm each day.”
Inches is the very bumpy strait section of road as you come into Rathmore (map)
just a thought …. it coincides nicely with the Horse Show … the busiest traffic week of the year. what genius planned that?

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN under Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993 that the following road will be closed to public traffic for the dates and times stated:
Ballydaly to Rathmore Road Resurfacing Works
Monday 10th August to Friday 21st August Inclusive
Closed each day from 8.00am to 6.00pm

Alternative route:
Traffic from Rathmore travelling towards Millstreet should continue along the N72 towards Mallow and turn right at Town Cross onto the L-1115 to Millstreet.
Traffic from Rathmore travelling towards Ballydaly should remain on the N72 towards Mallow and turn right at the Shamrock Bridge Cross onto the L-5170 to Ballydaly.
Traffic from Millstreet travelling towards Rathmore should turn right at the Station Road Junction on to the L-1115 towards Cullen and then turn left at Town Cross onto the N72 to Rathmore.
Traffic from Millstreet travelling as far as Ballydaly Village can remain on the R582.
This Closure is to facilitate Resurfacing Works.
