Matron Lena Kelleher cuts the cake on Tuesday, 23rd June 2015 in the presence of present and past members of Staff on her recent retirement as Matron of Millstreet Community Hospital. Matron Lena was Matron for 29 wonderfully dedicated years having spent 10 equally inspiring years as Staff Nurse before that in the Community Hospital.  This first reception followed the celebration of Mass by Canon J. Fitzgerald and Fr. P. O’Byrne at the Hospital.  A public celebration for Lena is envisaged later in the Autumn while this reception concentrated mainly on Staff and Patients who were delighted to mark such a very special occasion with a marvellous bar-b-que (with Jerry P.O’Leary and Staff) plus a great evening of song and dance.  Lots more pictures to follow later.  And Mark O’Donovan will have a special feature in the “Corkman”. Click on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.)
