Fondest Greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this Calm and rather wet & soggy Tuesday morning. Summer is well on its way and people are kept busy running outdoor events all over the place. The weather not helping on some occasions. Cullen Feis Committee held their full program on Sunday in spite of the not-too –suitable –weather. While Friday evening’s Mass planned for St.Mary’s Cemetery had to be held in the parish Church . A large crowd attended the Mass at Drishane Cemetry last evening.  The Pipe Band attended.  The Celebrant was Canon John FitzGerald and he thanked all those who helped in any way with the Mass and TG the rain held off. This evening Tuesday June 10th. there is an open invitation to all those who are involved in the weekly Eucharistic Adoration to come to the parish Church at 6.30 for an hour of adoration.   It will be followed by Mass at 7.30. The Community Singers with Marie Twomey will attend. Needless to say all are welcome to all or part of this grand celebration . Evening of Prayer & Healing, with Canon Michael FitzGerald at Tubrid Well this Thursday June 12   starting with Mass at 7.30. The Crew of LTV2 would like to say many thanks to all those who supported their recent Church Gate Collection in Millstreet & Ballydaly. It amounted to just under €1,800. A note from Bina Burke to say that a Church Gate Collection in aid of the Courtmacherry Lifeboats will be held here this weekend  June 14/15.th Many Congratulations to the pupils and staff of the lovely Cloghoula National School on winning a Plaque at the Regional OUR WORLD IRISH AID AWARDS which were held in Cork recently. Well done to Mark Ellis and his Cork colleagues on their great win over Waterford in the Munster Senior Hurling Replay. and the best of luck to them, on coming up against Clare in Thurlas next Sunday. Maeve Neenan asked me to congratulate Aoife Casey who won silver and Jenny Kelleher who won bronze at the County B Track & Field Championships at CIT recently and to Emma Lehane who represented the club at the Munster Track & Field in Ennis. Well done to the three girls. And I have a timely notice here from the Millstreet Athletic Club to say that the Willie Neenan Memorial 10K Road Race will be held through the town on Friday June 27, taking off at 7.30 pm. And the Walkers Race which starts at 6.30. Lots of cash prizes to be won. So start training. The AGM of our Community Council will be held at the Wallis Arms Hotel to-night starting at 9.    All Welcome. At the AGM of the Town Park committee,which was held recently  Noel Collins was elected the new Chairman, Denis Hickey Secretary, Maura Dinneen ,Treasurer, and Jerry Lehane PRO. Tributes were paid to the late William OLeary who served for many years as Chairman of the Town Park. Sincere sympathy was extended to his wife Mary and Family, RIP. Our Tidy Towns Committee are working very hard at the moment.  Plans are afoot for much painting of walls and houses and any unsightly places. The ladies who picked all the rubbish on the approach roads a short time ago are not pleased with the people who are drawing loads of old black plastic to the collection point these days because some are dropping pieces along the way. The girls are issuing an earnest appeal to the offenders to please pick them all up on their way home. For the weekly Clean-Up please join the Tidy Towns Crew at the Monument every Wednesday evening at 7. There’s a Monster Fun Day coming up in Carriginma on this coming Sunday June 15th  with all the usual attractions. Further on and a few days later the Poulanargin Harrier Club’s  Annual Dog Show will be held in Kilmurray on Friday June 20th. starting at 7.30 pm in aid of the Guide Dogs for the Blind. Their list of Fun Items is long and varied.  About 16 classes alone for dogs , plus sales of plants and flowers and cakes,and lots of games. And its all happening at Kilmurry on Friday June 20th at 7.30pm. Please support them well. Muinefliuch N.S. would like to invite us to their 80th anniversary celebrations and book launch on Sunday 22nd June. The line up of events will start at 1.30pm: Ribbon Cutting for the new extension, Mass followed by children’s performances, raffle – 1st prize a calf!, The launch of the book titled “A Collection of Photographs and Memories 1934 – 2014”, live music by Jim Murray & friends, bar-b-que, refreshments & side shows, Our Weekly lotto draw was held at McCarthy’s Bar on Sunday night. Numbers drawn were 8, 9,11,25 and the Jackpot was not won. Though one supporter was only a hair’s breadth from it. €100 went to Con O Connor, Ballydaly, the Sellers were Lehane & Robert and they got €50 sellers prize. €50 went to Noel Collins, Clara Rd. €20 each Darran Kiely Liscahane. Breda & Elaine Cronin. Priests Cross, All at Guerins Shop, Geraldine Goggin. Minor Row, Tommy Kelleher Mulnahorna. Maura Sheahen ,Ballinatona, Mairead Daly & family Mount Leader, Sylvia Murphy,Drishane Rd, Jackpot for next week €11,200 the draw at the Clara Inn on Sunday night. And looking to June 24th A St John’s night Grand Dance will be held at “Mushera Platform.from 9-11.
