Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to News Report 1192 from Millstreet. Fondest greetings Dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this cool but dry sunny  Tuesday morning.

The proceeds of the Fancy Dress Ball, which was held at the Wallis Arms Hotel by the Aubane Social Club were presented to our local Cancer support group at the Wallis Arms Hotel during the week. It amounted to €3,500.
And well done to all those who were associated with it in any way.

A million Congratulations to 15 year old Conor Corkery, second son of Michael and Margaret Liscahane who was awarded at the Annual  Garda Youth Awards ceremony recently for his great work in caring for his older brother John who is Autistic, and also taking care of the farm,to give his parents a well earned break. Well done indeed Conor.

The Self-Build Exhibition went very well over the weekend at the Green Glens. All under one roof, while the rain came down outside.

There are many new and exciting developments on the pipeline for this wonderful facility for the year to come.

Our development group will hold their Annual Christmas Fair and Tea Rooms, at the GAA hall on Saturday and Sunday November 30th/Dec.1  from 12 noon to 5 o clock each day. For information contact Nicola at 087 901 9001.

Kerry Diocesan  Youth Services will provide a Mobile Youth Cafe in the Town on the three Tuesdays in November. Starting to-night, and then on the 19 and 26th from 7.30 to 9pm.Its for secondary school students and for more information please contact Madelaine 087 277 49 19.

Our Masses will be very special over this weekend, with our Bishop of Kerry coming for the first time to Millstreet and will say our weekend Masses. Also our community Singers will attend the Vigil Mass on Saturday night.

A further Meeting on the ‘Do Not Worry’ series will be held tomorrow Wednesday night at the Pastoral Centre complete with a friendly cup of tea. All Welcome.

Millstreet Gramaphone Circle Meeting at the Canon O’Donovan Centre this Friday night November 15th starting at 8:15. Presenter Nora Burke, from Kanturk.

And I want to congratulate our Presentation Sisters where-ever they may be on the wonderful status of  “Venerable”, Which is next step to Sainthood, being bestowed on their Foundress Nano Nagle who was born in Kilavullen, Back in the seventeen hundreds.

The 56th Annual Sean Moylan Commeration will be held in Kiskeam on Sunday Next November 17th. Mass for Sean Moylan and his deceased comrades will be said at 12noon followed by parade to his graveside where an oration will be given by Dara Calleary TD.

The Annual 45Drive in aid of Millstreet Hospital will be held at the Green Glens arena on Sunday December 8th starting at 8.45

A very important Talk on Social Services will be given  Colette Vaughean at Ballydaly Hall on Tuesday November 19th Starting at 8. Topics for discussion will include Pensions, Support for the aged, Succession Planning,and lots more. Admission is free and All are welcome.

The upgrading work on our Town Square is expected to be completed in the next week and the results will be very exciting. We will have as it were, a new town Square. With room for decorative plants and a leisure area. And as a brand new parking format. Many of our stores in that area suffered a lot of disturbance in their trading while the work was going on. Please give them your best support both now and when the work is completed. We will all benefit by the sacrifices that they made.

An important meeting of the Community Council will be held at the Wallis Arms Hotel to-night at 9, All members please attend.

And don’t forget that Style Coach in Aubane on tomorrow Wednesday night, Beautiful garments on display. All proceeds to our local Cancer support Group R.O.C.S.

Every good wish to Patricia O Sullivan, Duaragle, Cullen who will launch her new book for Children at Ballyseedy Garden Centre on Sunday December 8th. The launch will be attended by many members of the Media.

A great night is assured at the pub in Carriginma this Friday night November 15th. All you have to do is bring some fuel for the fire and get a free drink, or you sing or dance,tell a story.

Cork Music Station with Willie Fitz will be there live, so don’t miss This Friday night in Carriginma.

The Board of Cullen National School want to say many thanks to all those who supported their recent clothes collection which raised €276.00.

And the organisers of their Donkey Derby want to say thanks also for the support that they got. All proceeds go to Irish Cancer Society.

Millstreet incurred a narrow defeat to Castletownbere in the Co. Minor Football Championship Final.

Upcoming, Millstreet take on Kilmeen in the  Co.  Under 16  Football League Final next weekend on a day, time and venue to be confirmed.

Here are the results of this weeks parish Lotto Draw which was held at the Clara Inn on Sunday night.

Numbers drawn were 7, 19, 21, 31. and the Jackpot was not won.
