This week we mourn the passing of the Saintly Mons. Michael Manning who was our Parish Priest for over 17years until he retired two years ago. May his gentle Soul rest in Peace.

On Thursday night Apr 18th the pupils and teachers of our Community School will host their Gala Fashion Show. It starts at the Sports Hall in the School at 8 and the proceeds always go to good causes. So please support it well.
Still with the Community school, The European prizewinning Group of Living Scenes have been invited to speak at an Aosta Gathering, which will be held in Charleville on the afternoon of Thursday Apr. 18. Their yardstick as always is the breaking down of the barriers that exist between the old and the young in Communities everywhere.
This weekend we are praying for fine weather for our two day Walking Festival. It is centred at the Wallis Arms Hotel on Saturday and Sunday Apr 20/21.There is a wide range of walks to choose from and all walks will led by experienced guides. All walkers please register at the Wallis Arms and return there at journeys end for De-reg. and some welcome refreshments. Contact number 086 380 94 24.
The third annual Monster MAC Triatlon will be centered at the Millstreet Country Park on Saturday April 27, with three testing routes to choose from. 20klms, 34km, 64 kms. It starts at 10am . and already there are 300 names on the list .
The Millstreet Development Group will provide the Marshals for the event and earn themselves €800 for their funds at the same time.
Another note from the Country Park to say that the popular Brennan Brothers of At Your Service Fame will be attending the Country Park during the coming months to help and advice on new ways to attract more customers. Their findings will be aired on National TV in 2014.
Please keep our roads and town litter free and also our graveyards. In spite of all the notices put up by the Co. Council, people still throw litter in the margins of the resting place of our loved ones.
And the Town Park Committee want all dog owners to keep them on a lead , while they are in the Park.
In honour of the Gathering we are building a whole weekend of entertainment around May 18th when we celebrate the 20th anniversary Of our hosting the EoroVision Song Contest in 1993.
A “Euro” themed Karaoke competition will be held at the Wallis Arms Hotel on Thursday 17th. And the Organisers are asking those who would like to take part to sign up without delay .
