Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to News Report 1150 from Millstreet.Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this rather cold ,but calm Tuesday morning.

The Great Machinery Show will be held in the comfort of the Green Glens Arena on to-morrow Wednesday and again on Thursday, from 12noon until ten each day.

As usual it will attract keen interest and draw great crowds into the town which will be a welcome boost at this usually quiet time of year.

 

And the sparkling  Bride and Groom show will be held on February 9 and 10th.

The AGM of our Community Council will be held at the Wallis Arms Hotel on February 12th at 8pm.

 

As I mentioned last week ,a bus will leave Macroom for the Pro-life Rally in Dublin  on Saturday January 19th, Contact number in Macroom is 026 42545 , or Betty Murphy,Cullen , 087 257 2064.

Our popular Community Singers will resume at the Parish Centre this Thursday night starting at7.30. It’s for both men and women and all are welcome.

The Monthly meeting of our Gramophone Circle takes place at the Canon O Donovan Centre this Friday Night Starting at 8.15 and all are welcome. Presenter this week is Maura Sheehan,Boherbue.

Weekly Set Dancing resumes in Ballydaly Hall to-morrow Wednesday night from 8.30 to 10.

 

Set Dancing in Aubane every Monday night.

 

And the proceeds of their highly successful Christmas Day Climb of Mushera

mountain will be presented to Suicide Aware on Wednesday January 23rd at 8pm.

 

All those with cards and money please return them in advance of that date.

 

The organisers of the New years Day Plunge in the Blackwater will present

the proceeds to   the Canon O Donovan Centre ,at the Mal Passo Bar on next

Saturday night January19th at 8pm.

 

Knitting Club every Tuesday night at the Adult Learning Centre from 7 to

9. All Crafts welcome.

 

An important Seminar entitled “Living Well with Diabetes”will be held

at the James O Keeffe Institute on  Thursday January 24th. For details ring Mary McHugh at 029 60633.

 

Eucharistic Adoration in all three churches at the usual times each week.

 

That time of year  has come round again when the Cullen Special Needs

Association hold their annual six-weeks

 

Weigh-In. It kicks off  on next Monday night ,proceeds as always to Special

Needs. Please give it your best support.

 

 

 

Another annual event  coming up is the Millstreet Community School

Transition Year Drama present Funny Money a hilarious comedy by Ray Cooney

in the School on Tuesday (Jan 22nd ) , Wednesday (Jan 23rd) and Thursday (Jan 24th) at

8.00 p.m. guaranteed to beat the blues.

Notes for the first issue of Clara News in 2013 are due in to the Editor

not later than Thursday January 24th.

The Crew of LTV2 are working hard to bring regular programs back to your

screens. Many problems were caused by the new systems, but they are

determined to find a way around them. Please keep in touch.

And its Panto Time in Rathmore. This year they are staging the popular

Alladin.

Starting off on Saturday January 26. Then on the following Wednesday &

Thursday,and Saturday February 2nd. Look up their posters for all the
