Very Successful Millstreet Parish Mission Concludes on Friday

A section of the very impressive large congregations attending the various ceremonies during Millstreet Parish Mission this week. ( S.R.)

The wonderfully successful Mission ends with the celebration of Mass at 7.30 p.m. on Friday, 2nd Nov. 2012.   Here we share some Mission images from the past week including the Wednesday night devotions which had the theme of “Family & Relationships”.   Our thanks to Fr. Dan, Fr. Brian and Canon John for such excellent coordination of the historic event in our Parish.

  1. I live in the United States and have been told that my ancestor was born in your community in June 1864. Do you keep records from that time?

Any assistance that you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Sharon

    1. Hi Sharon, the quickest and easiest way would be to check the online baptismal records for Millstreet in 1864.

Click this link to see a list of all the baptisms in 1964 in the Millstreet Parish.

not there, well maybe the person was baptised at the start of 1865?

It’s interesting that there were 238 baptisms in 1864 in the Millstreet Parish. In the last three years (2009 – 2011) there have been 62, 54 & 61 baptisms respectively.
Mortality rate then was very high, but i never thought it would be so big. Were they making up the numbers after the famine of the 1840s?
