Camogie: A huge congrats to the Millstreet Under 18 Camogie team who won the Cork Summer Sevens Tournament Section C at St.Finbarr’s on Saturday July 7th. The nine participating Clubs were Na Piarsaigh, Banteer, Carrigtwohill, St. Fanahan’s, Sarsfields, Millstreet, Fr. O’Neill’s, Cobh and St.Finbarr’s.
In Section 1 it took the very last game to decide who would make the final with Millstreet beating Sarsfields to claim their place against St.Finbarr’s who had qualified from Section 2. Millstreet who were a fabulous all round team with some lovely individual players went on to win a hard fought final on a score line of 4-3 to 0-5.
The nine participating Clubs were Na Piarsaigh, Banteer, Carrigtwohill, St. Fanahan’s, Sarsfields, Millstreet, Fr. O’Neill’s, Cobh and our selves. On a rare sunny day the first of sixteen section games got underway at midday. Games were played on two pitches and there was some excellent Camogie on display with all games played competitively but very sportingly.
