Duhallow U21 Champions 2012 !!!!!!

A huge congratulations to the Millstreet team who were crowned Duhallow U21 Champions for the second year in a row this afternoon in Boherbue, after they beat Blackwater Gaels (Lyre & Cullen) by 1-17 to 3-9 in an epic game of football.

Gaels looked like they had the game in the first half as they stormed ahead, but Millsteet finished the first half strongly to finish a point ahead 1-8 to 2-4. Millstreet raced 7 points clear and looked to have the game nearly won, but Gaels had a purple patch with ten minutes to go scoring 1-3 in quick succession making it a one point game at one stage, but Millstreet edged back to take a few excellent scores and see the game out, not without giving us a few small heart attacks as Gaels hit the post (from a fine save), the crossbar and a big penalty call waved away. An epic final with some fantastic scores in a very exciting and skillful game.

And done without Kevin Crowley too who was injured last night playing Minor Football with Cork as they beat Limerick in the Munster Championship. Get well soon Kev.
