Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this wet but mild Tuesday Morning.

This is Holy Week and there is a full program of Church Services to help us end the Holy Season of Lent in  a most holy and meaningful way. Please attend as many of the services as you can. And pray for the needs of our Country and for all our loved ones who had to leave it search of a living elsewhere. Our Holy Saturday Evening devotions start at 9. A brochure on the Eucharistic Congress which will be held in Dublin from June 10th to 17th is available in the Church.

Next Sunday is Easter Sunday and our local Vintage Club are hosting a Mega
Vintage Rally at the K&L Grounds in the Mount Leader Industrial  Estate.

In the past two years they have raised in excess of €35,000 for various
charities. This year the recipients include. Our local Boys National
School St V de Paul, All Cork Branch of MS and the Caring Unit at CUH.

There will be Live Music and stands etc, both indoor and out. And the
All-Ireland and World Tractor-Building Teams will give demonstrations. There
will also be Fast Food outlets on site. And it all starts from 1pm. Please
take note that the convent school playground in the town will be open for
parking.

Many congratulations to our Macra Group who were successful at the Munster
Finals of Scor Sinnsear in Templemore on Saturday night. They now progress
to the All Ireland Final which will be held at INEC Killarney at 3pm on
Saturday April 21st. This is a ticket  only show  and those wanting to be
sure of getting one, should ring 087 368 41 38  before this Thursday April
5th.Tickets are €22.

Commiserations to our gallant Quiz team and to John O Sullivan for St Johns
who were narrowly beaten on the night.

The AGM of our Community Council has been deferred from to-night to a date
yet to be decided.

The AGM of our Turf Committee will be held to-morrow Wednesday night April
4th.starting at 9 o clock at the Canon O Donovan Centre .

The organisers of the recent church gate collection, in aid of Cope, would
like to say many thanks to all those who helped and contributed.

It realised  €2,500.

Easter Sunday and the Millstreet Monument Committee will host their annual
Commemoration of the Easter Rising and War of Independence in the Town Square
at 12.30. Our Pipe Band will attend and the Oration will be delivered By
Tony Lane of Kinsale. They would appreciate your support.

Some of our Community school, students are enjoying a trip to sunny Spain
at the moment and at the weekend we bid a fond bon voyage to Laura Dennehy
and Orla Kiely who are going to Lourdes as helpers for the next week. All
thanks to your kind support of their cake sales and other fundraising
events that they held to defray their expenses.

Get ready for the Tidy Towns Big Clean-Up next week. Let every district
please organise themselves and row in behind the effort. It is really
heartening to see so many of our houses in the town being newly painted.
Our town is drawing lots of outside attention now with our new loop walks.
On Sunday last again hundreds of walkers from Bandon and other places did
the pleasant climb of Clara. It gives our place a very welcome boost in the
face of so much unemployment etc.

Please keep Millstreet and the approach roads clean and tidy.

Our next Walking Festival is on April 14/15th. Routes are planned to suite
all tastes. And teams of volunteers are there to see to everybody’s needs
especially beginners. So come and enjoy.

Later on in the month April 28th we will have the MonsterMAC. The
Millstreet Adventure Challenge.
Our beautiful  Country Park will be a hive of Activity for Easter. It is
sporting lots of new additions for your wonderment and enjoyment. And their
Easter Camp is a feature not to be missed. The Country Park, will feature
on this weeks program of LTV2 on Thursday night at ten.  Again look up

Feile Ceoil Sraid A Mhuillinn will be held at our Community School on
Sunday April 22nd. Starting with confined competitions at 12.30. Open
competitions at 2pm.

Shiabh Luachra will ring to the sound of Traditional Music this weekend
April 6 -9th for the ever popular Maurice O Keeffe weekend. Look up the
many posters for all the details.

The  annual Table Quiz at Aubane on Good Friday night at 8.30.

Music in the pub in Carriganima this Easter Sunday night is by Tommy G.

Congratulations to the Millstreet Novelty Act who won the Munster Scór Sinsir final in Tempelmore last Saturday night with an excellent and highly entertaining production. They will compete in the All-Ireland Final on April 21st in the INEC, Killarney. Well done too to John O’Sullivan from St.

John’s participating in the recitation category and Millstreet Question Time who finished runners up.

Millstreet take on Kanturk in the Duhallow U21 A Football Championship semi final in Banteer on Easter Sunday with a 3pm throw in.

 

 

Here are the results of this week’s parish Lotto Draw which was held at the
Bush Bar on Sunday night. Numbers Drawn were 2, 10, 25, 27 and the Jackpot
was not won. €100 went to Bill Egan, Churchtown, the Seller was Tom
Carroll and he got €50 sellers prize, €50 went to Dan Dowling, Mushera,
€20 each to Elaine & Ed FitzGerald Rathmore, Edmund Coffey, Drishane Rd,
