Cullen Pipe Band had a very full schedule participating in a total of seven St.Patrick’s Day parades this year. First up was a recital in Cullen after mass on the 11th where the juvennile members gave their first public performance with the band. Afterwards the band held a very successful flower and cake sale in the community centre. In the afternoon the band paraded in Rathmore for their annual St.Patrick’s day parade.
On St.Patrick’s Day itself the band started out in Tralee, followed by Killarney across the county bounds to Macroom and finished up in Millstreet.
On Sunday the 18th, Cullen pipe band participated in front of 40,000 people at the Limerick International Band Competition.
20 Bands from all over the world took part in the spectacular event, and Cullen pipe band were indeed very honoured to be amongst the prizewinners.
As the band season is approaching, the members are preparing for upcoming parades and competitions in Newcastlewest, Carlow, Cobh, Cullen, Ballina, Dingle, Stormont, Annan, and Glasgow. For further information please visit cullenpipeband.com
