Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this rather calm and overcast Tuesday morning.

Monthly meeting of the Community Council will be held to-night at the
Wallis Arms Hotel starting at 9. All members please attend.

Community Council annual Church Gate collection, this weekend 15/16th
in Millstreet, Please support it well.

And still they leave for Australia, This week we extend a fond Bon voyage
from all the people of Dernagree to Daniel and Donal Lucey, and indeed  to all
the rest of our people who are in search of a new and better life.

This Thursday night our Bridge club will celebrate their Golden Jubilee,
Starting with Mass in the parish Church at 7, followed by a banquet and
social evening at the Wallis Arms Hotel. And on behalf of our community I
want to congratulate the local  club, with some of the founder members still
on board, on their wonderful history of providing
all those years of social occasions for people who enjoy a game of Bridge  .

The National Dairy Show will be held at the Green Glens on this Saturday
October 15th.  This mighty event is part of our annual calendar for many
years. An annual meeting place for the thousands of people who are engaged
in agriculture and the machinery business. Look up their website for all

And there is a pleasant function coming up at the Clara Inn on this Friday
night, October 14th at which the proceeds of the Jerry O Leary Fundraising
Weekend will be presented to the Oncology Department of Cork University
Hospital.  Starts at 9 and all are welcome.

Our Youth Club are asking for more volunteers so that they can kick-start

A note from John Kelleher to say that the Annual Fancy Dress Halloween Ball
organised by Aubane Social Club and The Wallis Arms Hotel, is on Friday 21
October. Proceeds in Aid of Cope.

Set Dancing in Aubane  Monday nights and Playing Cards for Fun every
Thursday night starting at 8 pm.

They are also  organising a three weeks  defibulator Course / first Aid
Course over three Saturdays date to be decided. The course is FETAC

Meanwhile out at the pub in Carriginma there have Table Quiz to-night and
on the second Tuesday of every month.

Music this Saturday night October 15th by Back-on-Track, and special guest
the Mayoress of Ballinagree.

on the 3rd Tuesday of every month.

Bingo in Banteer every Tuesday, €10,900 to be won there to-night.

A gala night coming up at the Launa Bar in Ballinagree this Saturday night
October 15th. Hilarious comedy with the Batchelors in Trouble plus Music by
the renowned Southern Pride. All welcome.

Please be reminded again that Drama classes will be held at the Glen
Theatre Banteer every Saturday for six weeks starting Saturday 29th October
until Saturday 3rd December. 10 to 16 year olds from 10.00am until 12.30pm
and 5-9 year olds from 12.30pm-3.00pm. Taught by Claire Galvin, class
entails improvisation, drama games, drama workshops and script work there
will be a final performance to showcase the children’s work. For more

In GAA.

Millstreet GAA are in the midst of supporting the Cork County Board
promoted Clubs Fund Raising Draw with another new series underway. The club
welcome new participants, further details on the draw are available from
Club officers or draw co-ordinator Michael Healy.

A special function lauding some successful teams takes place on Friday,
November 11 in the Wallis Arms Hotel. Tickets are available from Michael
Cleary.
Here are the results of this week’s parish lotto draw which was held at the
Bush Bar on Sunday night.

Numbers drawn were, 4, 13, 22, 30 and the jackpot was not won. €100 went
to Pat and Noreen Murphy, Prohus, the seller was Natural Beauty Salon and
they got €50 sellers prize, €50 went to Marie Lehane ,Ballydaly, €20
each to the following eight people, Tommy Tucker, Ballydaly, Michelle , Sheila
and Ann c/o Alps, Paddy O Connor, Ballinkeen, Larry McSweeney, Tanyard, Tim O
Donovan, West End, Con O Connor,Rathrue. And Denis Kelleher, Liscahane.
