Spare a thought today for Ann Lane (who grew up just outside Millstreet), whose cruise on the MV Hondius has become a distressing ordeal following the deaths of three passengers from a hantavirus. She is fine, but they have not been allowed to disembark in Cape Verde, and will have to remain in onboard for a few more days until it can be organised.
