It was a true privilege to be able to attend StripeYSTE 2026 in Dublin’s RDS to audio record such dedicated Students from MCS as well as meeting with the wonderfully talented Pupils from Cullen N.S.. Special thanks to Teachers Eileen and Francy Lyons for their, as always, royal welcome. For all who qualify to attend they are already Winners….but when one of the MCS Students wins a highly prestigious Award this is such a magnificent bonus. Sincere congratulations to Farhan Tijani who is so proud of her own Nigerian heritage as well as having such heartfelt regard for Irish culture…Farhan was presented with the “Re-turn Special Award 2026” at the prize-winning ceremony on Friday, 9th January in the RDS. The title of Farhan’s magnificent project is “ReThread” Here we share a selection of images from the outstanding occasion. Incidentally, the truly splendid chorus of beautiful voices from Cullen N.S. (with Principal Eileen O’Mahony & Staff) provided me with an unforgettable 75th Birthday present as they raised the roof in exquisite harmony with their greatly appreciated Birthday Greetings – sincere thanks to All. Tuesday’s “Radio Treasures” programme on www.corkmusicstation.com will be entirely devoted to our many recordings at StripeYSTE 2026. The feature will begin at 9.30pm on Tues. 13th Jan. 2026 and will be repeated at the same time on Friday, 16th Jan. Tap on the images below to enlarge. (S.R.)
