The Audio/Video Streaming Service at St. Patrick’s Church, Millstreet has gladly been restored. Due to a technical fault the greatly appreciated service was unavailable for a number of days. This wonderful transmission of Church Services which was installed around the time of Covid is widely used and is accessed not only locally but on a global basis. Many receive the signal by phone, others by laptop and it is also accessed by many on computer screen. As well as the clarity of the video transmission the audio sound quality is especially superb.
The analogue local television system which was initially financed and established at the request of the Presentation Sisters many years ago has provided an excellent service for many who were blessed to be able to receive a very acceptable audio visual reception over many years. It was quite a rare and precious service to have in the area. Even when the streaming service became available, the analogue system continued. The analogue transmission, however, has now had to be disconnected….one of the main reasons being that the frequency signal used by the analogue system in the past to broadcast the Church Services is no longer permitted whereas the streaming service transmission system is allowed.
