Millstreet Community School was delighted to welcome former pupil Stefan Brennan. Stefan presented the inaugural Kevin Brennan Memorial Cup for the MCS chess champion, which commemorates his Uncle Kevin. Kevin was a dedicated teacher who helped his students thrive in school. He also ran a chess club and made every effort to ensure all students were included in school life.
Tournament winner Yaseen Mukhammed edged the victory over Aaron Bourke in a gripping contest, with Abdul Raheem and Oleksii Shemshur in third and fourth places.
Stefan also shared his extraordinary career path in acting with the students and described his current role in New York acting in ‘King Lear’. He encouraged students to work hard on their chosen path and to be courageous and choose an area of study they enjoy. Stefan is a graduate of UCC and the prestigious RADA acting academy. We wish him continued success on stage and screen.
