Linehans win on Feis and Blood

A huge congratulations to Jayme, Donal, James and Conor Linehan who beat off seven other family groups in last night’s Feis and Blood (TG4), to win their heat. Wonderful and lively, they played a jig and a reel, which will see them again in the semi-final in a few weeks.

Follow the links below to see the video of their performance on the show:
Part 1: the first 4 acts, which includes the Linehans who were first on stage (3:30 to 8:30 in the video)
Part 2: the last 4 acts
Part 3: the voting

What the judges said about the Linehans:
Pádraig:…Imagine them up on a stage in front of 1000 people at the Fleadh Ceoil. The stage, the studion audience and us judges were hopping…
Sibéal: Guys, that was increduble. I herd a hint of jazz in there with the trad,. it was great. also, you’re tight you understand each other. you work as a unit … it was excellent.
Aonghus: … The music was brilliant … I’d like to see eye contact with the audience. … in the second piece you really came into life … you were brilliant.

  1. Hi, well done great music, saw it online, think we may be related, my grandad was Patrick Linehan, from Dooneens…his mum and dad were Cornelius and Margaret (nee Condon) Linehan. Grandad Paddy came to New Zealand in 1900, spelling of the surnames got interchanged on my dads birth certificate in 1915, ended up as Lenihan, But research has shown we are descendents of Cornelius and Margaret. If you have anything that ties up be great to hear. There are a great many Lenihan/Linehans from that birth line here now
Good luck for the next round, really great music.
    Cheers
    David
