Acknowledgement and First Anniversary

On the occasion of Joan’s first anniversary, her husband Tom, daughters Noreen and Siobhán, sons Con, John, Tomás and Donal, daughters in law Helen, Joanne, son in law Niall and her adored seven grandchildren would like to acknowledge the many gestures of kindness and sympathy shown to us during Joan’s illness and funeral.
We are deeply indebted to our dedicated Community Health nurses,  Marymount Hospice Support Team and The Irish Cancer Society Night Nurse for the remarkable kindness and care shown to Joan during her illness and final days. We would like to extend our thanks to the entire staff at Dr. Leaders’s Surgery, Boherbue, All in Reens’s Pharmacy Millstreet, and the staff at Cork University Hospital. We wish to thank everyone who telephoned, sent mass cards, sympathy cards, novenas and letters, celebrated masses, placed messages of condolence on RIP.ie and those who participated in the live streaming of Joan’s funeral mass. We remember with gratitude those who would have liked to attend but could not do so due to government covid restrictions.
A sincere word of thanks to Fr. Tom Leane, P.P. Dromtariffe who celebrated Joan’s funeral mass and prayers at the graveside assisted by Fr. Bartie Doherty, Kiltegan Fathers, Margaret Healy soloist accompanied by Leah Murphy on the organ for their beautiful singing and music and Margaret Murphy, sacristan.
We thank Davy, Cora, Martina and Declan of Tarrant’s Undertakers for their support, advice, empathy and professionalism, Leo Fitzgerald for the excellent  streaming of Joan’s mass. Our sincere thanks to the traffic stewards for organising the parking and ensuring the safe flow of traffic on the day. We will always cherish and remember with gratitude everyone who stood in respectful silence in Derrinagree Churchyard and the people who stood in respect along the roadside on the journey to St. Mary’s Cemetery. To those who helped in any way, your contribution made our loss more bearable. It would be impossible to thank everyone individually, kindly accept this acknowledgement of our sincere appreciation.
Masses have been offered for your intentions.
