CHRISTMAS BLESSING

May this Christmas renew us all in God’s love so that we are not anxious, but able to rejoice in the Lord who loves us.

May this Christmas renew us in friendship with the Lord so that we can trust and not be afraid of the Lord who loves us.

May this Christmas renew us in our desire to be people of goodwill so that we can truly share in the tidings of great joy from the Lord who loves us.

MESSAGE AT CHRISTMAS TIME

As we celebrate the beautiful Feast of Christmas, we are unfortunately doing so once again in the shadow of COVID 19.  This has been a very hard year for everyone and while we were looking forward and planning to have our family and friends around us, we have been advised to reduce our contacts and continue to observe recommendations and to keep each other safe.

I want to express my thanks to everyone who has helped in any way to keep our Churches safe during the past twelve months; those who have assisted with stewarding and the cleaning of seats, your willingness to help is very much appreciated.

I also acknowledge the financial support that you have continued to give during the year, both at our daily Masses and to our Restoration Fund.

Our live-streaming continues to provide solace to people from our town, parish and community who are unable to come to our Church. This valuable connection has provided solace and comfort at difficult times and also allows them to be part of our ceremonies. The continued donations towards this cost are most welcome.

Finally, I want to wish the families of our Parish a very happy and peaceful Christmas.  I want to say thank you to everyone who has assisted in Parish life during the year and we remember in our prayers the families who have lost loved ones during the year.

I wish you all a very peaceful, safe and happy Christmas.

  Fr. John Fitzgerald

God never gives someone a gift they are not capable of receiving.

If he gives us the gift of Christmas, it is because we all have the ability

to understand and receive it.

(Pope Francis)
