On tonight’s Show:  Lots of wonderful songs and music including Jim Lyons, Shandrum Céilí Band’s selection, The Clare Céilí Band,  some Classical Magic,  Breeda Tarrant’s wonderful singing recorded at The Bridge Bar …. and many, many more. At 10pm we include a special Interview with Niamh Kavanagh and Pól Ó Síodhcháin plus a little preview of the upcoming YouTube song recorded at MCS on Friday.  We listen at 9.45pm to a special appeal for film footage or video from Peter Murnahan whose film company is making a Television Documentary on the World Boxing Event in Millstreet on 18th March 1995 involving Steve Collins and Chris Eubank.  And we listen to Mick Foster’s great song about Rachel Blackmore.   We hear about our the joy of repairing a broken cassette tape!! And we chat about the following images sourced from Millstreet Museum Pictorial Archives.  Tap on the pictures to enlarge.

Today (25th May 2021) Peter Murnahan visited Millstreet to continue his research as preparation for the upcoming Television Documentary on the World Boxing Match between Chris Eubank and Steve Collins. Presently Peter and his Film Company are seeking any film or video footage relevant to the event, its preparation and aftermath. If you have any such material which you are willing to share please let us know here at millstreetmuseum @gmail.com and we shall pass it on to Peter for possible use in the Documentary. On “Radio Treasures” tonight at 9.45pm I shall provide more details.

Niamh delighted to visit Millstreet for post-Eurovision reception in 1993.
Niamh as young and cheerful as ever last Friday on her visit to Millstreet – 28 years after winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993 – to participate in a Musical Workshop with Students at MCS.
