Millstreet “Darkness into Light” Walk Likely to Become Annual Event

Judging by the superbly uplifting response to the recent “Darkness into Light” 5K Walk which took place in Millstreet on Saturday, 8th May 2021 at 4.15 a.m. and was organised locally by the Munster Fire and Safety Team based in Main Street, Millstreet – it is felt that the Millstreet Walk for Pieta House will most likely become an annual event in conjunction with the many similar events which take place annually on a nationwide and international basis.   The 2021 Millstreet Walk began in Killarney Road and proceeded through the town to the Drishane Castle entrance gate and then returning to Main Street where Munster Fire and Safety provided much appreciated refreshments.  COVID-19 Safety precautions were observed.  Participants contributed generously to the praiseworthy fund. Here we share some 64 images from the inspiring event.   Tap on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.)

While the “Darkness into Light” Walk  in Millstreet continued a further group climbed to the summit of Clara Mountain at the same time. Here we view Dawn Rising on Clara thanks to the recording of Joe Fitzgerald.
