PARISH OFFICE:  Our Parish office is currently working behind closed doors due to the Covid19 restrictions. Parishioners who wish to book Masses, require Mass cards or have any other query are asked to please ring the office (029 70043).

Dear Parishioners,

It is hard to believe that over 12 months have passed and  unfortunately, we are still celebrating Mass behind closed doors but with the development of vaccines there is a glimmer of light that our towns and communities will begin to open up slowly and cautiously.  During this period last year, we couldn’t even open our Church doors for private prayer and this was difficult for everyone to understand and accept.    Parishioners nationwide find solace and comfort while visiting  Churches – it may be lighting a candle, reciting Stations of the Cross or simply spending time in silent prayer but it gives a connection that we all need in our lives from time to time. This time of year, would traditionally be the preparation of our Sacramental classes for receiving their First Holy Communion              and Confirmation.  As of now we are unable to put any dates in place until the restrictions are lifted by our Government and NPHET and as soon as dates are in place, we will be in contact with the schools and parents.  I want to take this opportunity to thank the parents who attended the recent Sacramental talks organised by the Diocese. If you were unable to attend both of these webinars are still available on www.dioceseofkerry.ie.

Regarding our Parish Finances, our annual audit has now been completed and I want to acknowledge the financial support we have received towards our Restoration Fund, Parish Streaming, Parish offertory collection and Clergy dues. These donations are greatly appreciated and especially during the past 12 months.

As in previous years the Parish will be applying for a Tax Refund from the The Revenue Commissioners under their approved tax relief scheme for eligible charities. Parishioners who have contributed €250 or more in the calendar year up to 31st December, 2020, are eligible for this scheme.

Our Parish office is currently processing these claims for our parishioners whose forms we have on file.  Any parishioner who needs to complete a new form will receive these by post and can  return them to our office.  If you have any queries, please contact our Parish office.

Continue to stay safe during the coming weeks and months and be assured of my prayers for our community.           Fr. Fitzgerald.
