On this week’s edition of ‘Where the road takes me’, John Greene speaks to Dr. Alan Desmond who was born and raised in Blarney.
Trained in CUH and Bantry General Hospital, Alan is now one of the leading young Consultant Gastro-Enterologists in the UK and leading Clinician at the Devon Gut Clinic.
During his time at the frontline of the hospital’s Covid-19 wards he encountered many patients who were also suffering from Chronic diseases and thus limiting their chances of recovery.
It’s time he says that people should know the facts about our Western diet and think seriously of adopting a plant-based food diet.
Easier said than done, as we Irish love our cow.
However, Skibbereen based Nutritionist Majella o’Neill also joins in and offers a happy medium.
