Nano Nagle Anniversary

Today is the anniversary of Venerable Nano Nagle (1718-1784), foundress of the Presentation Sisters.

We remember in our prayers today the Presentation Sisters who taught and lived here in Millstreet.  We give thanks for the education and care they gave to our community. May God continue to protect their communities worldwide during this Corona virus pandemic.

“The Almighty makes use of the weakest means to bring about His works” – Nano Nagle.

FIRST COMMUNIONS 2020

This week we have notified the school and parents of our first Holy Communion children that due to the continued closure of the schools and the major restrictions on people gathering we have had to take the unprecedented step of postponing these ceremonies.

In correspondence received from our diocesan offices during the week Bishop Ray acknowledges the preparation that has been done already for this sacrament which is a high-point for the children, their families, schools and communities but new dates will be set and in due course all will enjoy these wonderful occasions.

Once again, I thank you for your continued support, prayers and understanding during these difficult times.

Reflection to ponder on this week:
Life is often nearer to a vale of tears than to a forum of fairness; though that doesn’t mean we should give up hope”.

Let none of us give up hope and let our community spirit be a support for each and everyone of us.
