Very Reverend Fr. Liam Comer, Ardfert & Clonakilty

Very Reverend Fr. Liam Comer, Ardfert, Co. Kerry and formerly of Clonakilty, Co. Cork, peacefully on 18th April 2020, beloved son of the late Patrick & Anne and dear brother of the late Brendan and Cyril. Sadly missed by his loving family, nieces nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, sisters-in-law, the Bishop and Clergy of Kerry Diocese, his wonderful carers, relatives, his kind neighbours and many friends. Rest in Peace.
A private funeral will take place for Fr. Liam, (which can be viewed on dioceseofkerry.ie from Wednesday 22nd) with a Memorial Mass being celebrated in St. Brendan’s Church, Ardfert at a later date. [rip]

Fr. Liam Comer administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to some 71 Candidates in Millstreet on Wednesday, 24th April 2013 in a morning ceremony beginning at 11.00. (S.R.) [more]. Fr. Liam was the Parish Priest in Dromtariffe until 2016, when he was moved to Ardfert.

Munster Minor Hurling Final 1966; Cork 6-7 Galway 2-8. Playing in the full forward line,  Fr. Liam scoring two goals. He scored 1-1 in the All Ireland semi final against  Antrim, and two goals again in the All Ireland Final. However,  Cork lost the Final to Wexford in a replay [de1tails]. [2]

  1. I was a good friend who lives in Oskaloosa Iowa usa. We were on a sabbatical together at Sangre New Mexico in l991, I came to visit him twice and He came to visit me once in Iowa.

    The spirit of Liam got my attention. I think that he wanted me to know that he is now at peace. I will continue to offer my Mass prayers for Liam.
