  2. Sad news out of Tullig on the Butter Road above the Town of Millstreet
Donie Golden as nice a person as one could wish for to meet
Of his more than seven decades life span has lived his last day
One who lived as a good person in every way

An honest person who lived an honourable life
Devoted to his sons and their children and Molly his wife
His family and friends will grieve for their loss
But none go through life without bearing some cross

One who in life never yearned for Worldly renown
He will be missed from Tullig and Millstreet Town
Quite humble and as honest as the word can be
His sort becoming rarer in the twenty first century

That we are born to mortality happens to be so
And eventually time becomes everyone’s foe
Life is the greatest gift anyone does possess
Far greater than any other form of success

For all of us from life a final release
Donie Golden lived as a good person may he now rest in peace
Millstreet where his was a familiar face
For him living in it was a better place.
