Eily’s Report – 2nd October

Dia is Mhuire díobh go léir a chairde and welcome to my report.

My apologies for not being on the radio web last week. I was in fact enjoying a wonderful bus trip to Carlow. The Castlemagner singing group invite some of our singing group every year to join them on their annual trip. And nine of us went along. The 50 seater coach was full to capacity and new friends were made and existing ones renewed. We were taken to see the Curragh Army Camp, The National Stud and Japanese Gardens. Historic  Boulavogue, the wonderful Glendalaugh and many places in between. The sun shone all the way, there were stops for refreshments and some shopping and our nights after 7 o’clock dinner were whiled away to music and dancing and even a game of forty five. I promised the crowd that I would give the trip a mention on my weekly report, and let them know how I enjoyed the precious four days in their company. One lady, who was obviously delighted to be there said to me, I think Eily, our time has come. There was nothing like this for the elderly in the past. So well done to the organisers.
