This wonderful framed portrait of Pope Pius XI was presented by Jerry who dedicatedly restored the historic image. This Pope was in Rome during the Eucharistic Congress of 1932 which was held in Dublin. As Popes did not leave the Vatican to travel abroad at that time he sent his Papal Legate – Cardinal Lorenzo Lauri. Many children born that year in Ireland had Lauri as part of their Christian Name.
