The weather was very kind for all the activities that were held around here over the weekend, The Annual Thrashing Afternoon by the Cullen Special Needs Association, and they asked me to thank all those who helped and supported their venture. Our lovely Country park played host to a very special Vintage display ,plus all park services up ‘n running.
In Banteer there was fun for all the family with their annual Show. Well done to all the people who keep all of these important events going through thick’n thin year after year.
Our Town Park hosted the Humphrey Kelleher U15 tournament which drew teams from all over the Province in brilliant sunshine. Again it called for a lot of commitment from the locals and they were not found wanting, to close the weekend , the Lotto Draw was held at the Mal Passo Bar again run completely on voluntary lines Where would we be with it.
Before going on I’d like to say a very fond Cead Mile Failte to all those who are home on holidays or visiting us at the moment. And may I say how gratifying it is when they tell us that they can keep in touch with us in any part of the world on a daily basis, through the magic of the Inetrnet. Millstreet Comhaltas Group was very well represented at the Finals of the Munster Fleagh Ceoil which were held in Roscrea at the weekend. All U15 they took part in Music & Setdancing and with great successes.The Senior Set -Dancing team Qualified with the Jnrs. narrowly failing to make the grade. In music Donal Linehan qualified both in accordion and Melodian, with Cian Dennehy narrowly missing out on Accompanament Guitar . In the U12 James Linehan was successful on Melodian.
Those taking part in the trio, were Billy Cronin, Darren Kiely and James Linehan. The winners now go foreward to the All Irl Finals which will be held at Tullamore in August. and we wish them the best of good luck.
The latest on Stephen O Riordans award winning film entitled “The Forgotten Maggies”is that it will be shown at the Glen Theatre on August 14/15/16. In Cork at a time not yet decided and he is invited by the New York Film Academy to bring it for showing in the US. Steve wants you to know that one of the four ladies who feature in his film will be present at each nights showing at the Glen Theatre.

Millstreet defeated Newmarket in the Duhallow Junior A Football
Championship in Boherbue last evening. On Saturday last, Millstreet hosted
the Humphrey Kelleher Memorial Football Tournament Final where two Cork
teams contested the final.
Upcoming on Sunday, Millstreet meet Freemount in the second round to the
Duhallow Junior A Hurling
Championship.

It drives me “nuts” that neither you nor any of your sports & other reporters, ever put a DATE on any of your reports.
PLEASE in addition to issuing your report as # 971 add a DATE. Whether one reads the reports every week or ocassionally, a date will provide some perspective.
Same for those sports events coming up or results, one never knows whether you are reading about something that happened last week, a month ago or a year ago, without an identifying date.

I agree with your point that the lack of a date on the reports has been an annoyance for many. It was one of the things that needed addressing when the site was being changed. The date and time has been added in two places:
1. On the left of every article heading you’ll see the date of that post, and
2. Just above the comments for every article, you can see the date and time of the post.
It would be good also if the dates were the articles, so we’ll have to chase after the authors to put them in.
