Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this rather wet and windy Tuesday morning.

On behalf of our Community I want to congratulate Billy & Ellen Sheehan of the Wallis Arms Hotel on the birth of their twins, a boy and a girl, at the weekend. May God bless them all .

Once again the three-day, Self-Build Show  drew great crowds to the Green Glens over the weekend. People came from far and near to exhibit and to see.

There’s a strong possibility that the great machinery Show will make its annual visit in January, but before that on December 3rd we will have a Gala Concert at Drishane Castle. Proceeds in aid of Children’s Charities.

Many congratulations to our brilliant Tidy Towns Committee on getting no less than two awards for their great work over the Summer months. At a function which was held in Killarney recently they received a cert and a cheque for €800, for coming second in the North Cork Region of the National Tidy Towns Competition. And at a further function which was held in Ballincollig they were awarded the Muintir na Tire, Pride of Community prize for their great work on the Wildlife area, Drishane Rd. Please continue to help and support them .

Our Parish Development Group are pulling out all the stops to raise the spirits of Millstreet, in the run-up to Christmas. Copies of their new brochure, (sporting their new Millstreet Logo, The Millwheel) have been sent to every household in the area, with 36 businesses and services offering special cut-price offers for the Shopping Week which will run from November 15 to 20. The Brochure itself in a wonderful keepsake containing  the details of  all  the services that are up-and-running in the area.

To kick-start the Shopping Week a gala Bazaar will be held at the GAA Hall on Sunday November 14.from 2-5. Proceeds in aid of The Presentation School and the Development Group. There will be Face-Painting, Raffles, Wheel ‘o Fortune. Home-Made Baking, Books, Toys etc. Anybody who would like to get involved or donate items, such as Bottles of Spirits, Wines, Tins of Biscuits, Sweets and so on, can contact Áine Collins, Jerry Pat O Leary or any member. We are all in this together, so please come out and help.

New plans for our Christmas Lights are also on the cards, and for 2011 a monster Welcome Home Festival.

Our local Walks are drawing the attention of the World Media, and with so many beautiful sights to choose from we have a lot to offer .

“Know Your Rights “ information evening at the James O Keeffe Institute to-night at 7.30.

Public Meeting Organised by IRD  Duhallow will be held at the Wallis Arms Hotel on Wednesday night November 17th. It will be of particular interest to Community and Voluntary Groups who are about to undertake projects in the near future and are in need of support. For details 60633.

An important public meeting will be held at the Pastoral Centre to-night to organise a parish retirement DO for Sean Radley. Starts at 8 and all are welcome

Monthly Meeting of the Community Council will be held to-night at the Youth Centre starting at 9, all member please attend.

Weekly Irish Conversation Classes or beginners will start at our local Library on Wednesday Nov 17. from 12noon to 1.

Many thanks to the members of our Clergy who made our weekend for the dead so meaningful and so prayerful. Putting on extra Masses at all three Churches, Confessions, Prayers at our Cemeteries on Sunday to name but a few.

Masses for the dead this month will be, in Millstreet on Monday, Ballydaly on Tuesday and Cullen on Wednesday, all with a 7.30 PM start.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in Millstreet Church every Wednesday from 10.30 a to 8.30 pm. Drop in any time.

Note here to say that the Annual Sean Moylan Commemorations will be held at Kiskeam on Sunday November 14th starting with Mass at 12 noon.

Claire Galvin will conduct Drama Classes at the Glen Theatre on Saturdays from December 4 to January 29 2011. from 10am to one. Contact 029 71153.

Members of the local Trout and Game Angling Club would like to thank all those who supported their recent church gate collection in Millstreet and Ballydaly.

This week sees the return of LTV2 on your screens. Program 167 will be on Thursday at ten and the repeat on Sunday at 8pm. Snippets of programs are also available on Utube.

Bingo in Millstreet’s GAA Hall every Thursday at 8.30pm. Jackpot this week €4,200.

Set dancing in Aubane every Monday night. 45Drive at the Canon O Donovan Centre every Tuesday night.

Here are the results of this week’s parish lotto draw which was held at the Clara Inn on Sunday night. Numbers drawn were 2, 11 13 . 30 and the jackpot was not won. €100 went to Ann Kelleher, Moulnahorna, The seller was Adrian at the Wallis Arms and he got €50 sellers prize, €50 went to Aiden McCaul, €20 each to Tommy Tucker, Ballydaly, D.D. O Sullivan, Ballydaly, The Creedon Family, Laught, Kieran Murphy, Kilmeedy, Sean O Sullivan, Carriginma, Sheila Barrett, Aubane, Pat Barry, Station Rd, and Pa Rohan, Lackabawn. Jackpot for next week €4,600 the draw at the Wallis Arms Hotel on Sunday night.
