Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this wet and calm, Tuesday morning.

An Australian Film Crew are making a documentary on the history of the Eurovision Song Contest and as we were one of the hosts, they will be coming to Millstreet this week to do some footage. Niamh Kavanagh will also be here and we hope that they will have both a successful and enjoyable stay.

The first issue of Clara News following the Summer break, is in the shops.

There are lots of things starting up again after the summer break. Our Parish Choir will be back for 11.30 Mass this Sunday, Practice on Wednesday nights from next week on. New members always welcome.

Living Scenes, is back  at the Community School, it’s the project which involves mature people joining Transition Year Students for a few hours on Thursday afternoons, to engage in creative writing, music and some crafts,  with the intention of breaking down the barriers that have grown between the ages in recent years. The founder of Living Scenes, Mary Surlis of UCG will attend the first meeting which is on this Thursday at 1.30. Both men and women welcome.

Our Parent/Toddler Group  resumed to-day and will continue every Tuesday, starting at 10am at the GAA Hall.

The weekly set-dancing will resume in Aubane on Monday September 20th starting at 9.30.

And the ever popular Glen Theatre in Banteer opens the season this Friday night with a gala comedy show with the well-known Cha and Miah. Starting at 8.30. number for enquiries 029 56239.

The After-school service provided by the Community Council, has resumed at the Youth Centre every afternoon from 2-6.

Irish Dancing Classes start at the GAA Hall to-day at 4pm ,0876747118.

Morning Masses this week in Millstreet Church will be at ten on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  On Thursday it will be at 11, which will be the funeral mass for  Bridget Drummy ,of USA, and Millstreet. Followed by internment in Drishane.

Mass on Friday at 7.30 pm will be for the late Alan and Tommy  O Connor.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in Millstreet Church every Wednesday from10,30 to 8.30 pm. At the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. Feel free to drop in at any time.

Registration for the Millstreet Active Retirement Group takes place next Monday Night, September 13th from 7,30 ,at the Canon O Donovan Centre.

The organisers of the recent church gate collection in aid of Pakistan, want to thank all those who subscribed so generously, The amount raised came to €4,965.00

And Sr. Concillio’s collection in aid of Cuan Mhure on the same weekend came to €1,840.89.Again she wants to thank all those who gave.

Farm Open Evening with Farmers Market & Demonstrations

The Millstreet Juveniles Annual Perpetual Trophies will take place on Sunday in Millstreet Town Park commencing at 12.30pm.
On parade in various competitions are U8, U10 and U12 football and hurling teams who will play each other for the Tommy O’Conner, Alan O’Conner and Connie Kelleher Memorial trophies.
On this Thursday evening, Millstreet play Knocknagree in the Duhallow Junior B Football Championship in Knocknagree at 7pm.

And the St. John’s Club were delighted with their win over Cullen on their first outing, in Millsreet at the a score of 1.18 to 8 .

Here are the results of this weeks parish lotto draw which was held at the Mal Passo Bar on Sunday night. Numbers drawn were 10, 13, 25, 27 and the Jackpot was not won. €100 went to Davy Tarrant, the seller was Tarrants Bar and they go €50 sellers prize. €50 went to Noreen Gayden c/o Tommy Tucker. €20 each to D.
