“Where the Road Takes Me” Tonight at 7pm

This week, in the first of a two part programme entitled ‘Memories and
Miracles’, John Greene pays a visit to the Edel Quinn Hall in Kanturk, the
scene of many great dancing nights since it first opened back in 1955.

We look into the life of the young woman whose name is on the hall, and
discover that she is in ‘the waiting room’ for canonisation.  Struck with a
severe form of tuberculosis, she continued to work tirelessly for the Legion
of Mary in Mombasa, before finally succumbing to the illness at the age of
36 in 1944.  Fr. Mossie Brick, parish priest of Lixnaw in North Kerry gives
us the protocol required for her progression to sainthood.

We also invite some of the Cork legends of the showband era to join us in
the hall, and re-live all their favourite  memories from a wonderful musical
era.

This week we are joined by former lead singer with the Regal Showband Declan
Ryan, and Dixies and Stage 2 drummer – Joe Mac.

‘Miracles and Memories- part one – this Sunday evening on Where the road
takes me on C103 at 7.
