Eily’s Report – 23rd May

Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to my weekly report.

Another warm spell is on the way and get ready to avail of the lovely sunny days ahead. At the same time be careful with the use of our local water system. It came as a great shock during the week to be told that it is polluted and  we were warned to boil  it before use. A new purifying system is to be installed and we sincerely hope that it wont be long before we can let down our guard and put this worrying  time behind us.

Meanwhile life goes on in our community and we have lots of lovely events to look foreward to. Next Sunday May 28th will see the Grand opening of our newly extended Day Care Centre  on the Clara road at 2pm.  Everybody is invited to come and see  what this wonderful facility has to offer, especially  the elderly people of our community. There will be bouncing castles, facepainting, light refreshments plus a grand tour of the whole place.

On Friday May 26th the annual May Mass will be celebrated at Tubrid Well, and patrons will be impressed to find this holy place all newly painted and decorated . Mass begins at 7.30 , the community singers will attend, and we hope for fine weather.

This year marks the centenary of Our Ladys Apparition at Fatima and we are all asked to make ourselves familiar with the requests that she made on that occasion, and are seen as the only solution to the crisis in which humanity finds itself today.

(1) To Pray the Rosary every day,(2) Do Penance and make sacrifices in Reparation for Sinners,

(3) Practice the Five First Saturdays Devotion. (Mass & Holy Communion for five consecutive Saturdays)

(4)  Oppose Decadence, liberalism, and anti-Catholicism of the modern world.

We are asked to  make this message known to as many people as possible.

And if you don’t know how to pray, just to say God Help Me is a good place to start.
